The term "activation" is placed in quotes because the program modifies the activation record in Windows "Trusted Storage" instead of authenticating a product. Additionally, the program's keys are valid for internal manipulation, not direct installation.

Internet connectivity is not necessary as all processes occur locally. A common issue arises when KMSCLIENT licenses are only activated for 180 days; this can be resolved by disabling internet access temporarily.
