SecureDelete 1.0 [Latest]

SecureDelete

SecureDelete – The program completely removes highly sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully random patterns.
Able to erase both files and folders

If you want to get rid of a couple of files, you just have to open the app, pick the file shredder options, and manually select the files you want to shred. On the flip side, in case you have entire folders you’d like to dispose of, choose the second option, the folder-oriented one. No matter what you opt to delete, the process is the same.

Instant deletion of files
Once an item is selected, the application will proceed to shred and remove it instantly. You can notice how effective the app is by checking the Recycle Bin, which shouldn’t have any new items after the app is done.

Regarding unforeseen situations where a file cannot be removed by using the default method, you can check the Force Delete box and try removing them again.

No shredding algorithms displayed
Usually, file shredders provide a drop-down menu that lets you choose the shredding algorithm. Sadly, this tool has no such options, only a piece of information from the developer which mentions some random patterns.

However, SecureDelete is one of the tiniest shredders out there, and the lack of multiple algorithms can be understood. Still, it would be nice for us to know which algorithm is used, even if it’s just one.

In conclusion
SecureDelete is not the flashiest file shredder out there, but it can be useful to individuals who don’t want to bother with complicated applications. On top of that, the app is portable, meaning that no installation or configuration is required.
